Welcome New Single Ventricle Patient Day Committee Members!

We are excited to welcome Jaxsten Shepherd and Scott Salvaggio to the Single Ventricle Patient Day Planning Committee!

Jaxsten, from Levan, Utah, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has undergone three open-heart surgeries before the age of 18 months. Now a student at Southern Utah University, Jaxsten enjoys hunting, fishing, and writing. He aspires to become a bestselling author. He is passionate about the CHD community and thrilled to support SV-ONE and Single Ventricle Patient Day in improving the lives of single ventricle patients.

Scott, a 37-year-old HRHS patient, was born with Double Inlet Left Ventricle and Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) and has lived with a pacemaker since age 9. Originally from Maryland, Scott spent three years in Germany during high school before earning his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Valparaiso University. Now living in Northern Virginia and working as a systems engineer, Scott enjoys traveling, board games, advocating for the heart community, and puns.

With Jaxsten and Scott joining, the group now has six patient leaders contributing their voices and experiences to make this year’s event meaningful and impactful. Join us at the Single Ventricle Patient Day breakouts this year at the SV-ONE Fall 2025 Learning Session!
